Level 1A: Developing water discovery, gaining confidence to swim in a horizontal position. Major Aim: To put face in the water.
Level 1B: Water discovery, gaining confidence, floatation skills, safe entries and exits from the water, kicking on front and back.
Level 2A: Developing water awareness, introductory to stroke work including freestyle and backstroke and a strong focus on kicking.
Level 2B: Water Awareness, continuous stroke work, focus on freestyle breathing, survival skills and a strong focus on kicking.
Level 3A: Developing water sense, confident stroke techniques for both freestyle and backstroke, introduction of survival backstroke.
Level 3B: Water sense, stroke refinement, distance swimming and introduction to breaststroke.
Level 4: Water wise, continuous/distance swimming for 75 metres, survival skills, introduction to butterfly, refinement of breaststroke.
Level 5: Junior swim & survive, continuous/distance swimming for 100 metres, stroke technique, survival skills, rescues.
Level 6: Junior Swim & survival, continuous distance swimming for 250m or more, extended survival skills, basic racing skills.
Level 7: Senior swim & survive: continuous distance swimming for 300m or more, extensive stroke correction, Survival skills & basic racing skills.
