A tradition to build on

Genazzano FCJ College has a proud tradition. The College can offer what it does today because of the vision and generosity of many who have already given of their time and finances.

Genazzano also has a bright future, but planning for this future with confidence relies on the ongoing support of the College community. A bequest to Genazzano FCJ College is an important way in which you can be part of that future.

Making a bequest in your Will can be very simple, though you should consult with a solicitor or trustee to ensure that your Will and any changes (codicils) to the Will accurately reflect your intentions. When designating a bequest to Genazzano it is important that you refer to the correct legal entity, as per the following suggested wording:

Unrestricted:

'I give, free of all costs, (my estate) or (portion/the residue of my estate) or (sum of $___) to Genazzano FCJ College Ltd., Cotham Rd, Kew, Victoria for its general purposes at the discretion of the Principal. I declare that the receipt of the Principal or Business Manager shall be sufficient discharge to my trustees.'

Specific Purpose:

'I give, free of all costs, (my estate) or (portion/the residue of my estate) or (sum of $___) to Genazzano FCJ College Ltd., Cotham Rd, Kew, Victoria for a specific purpose. I express the wish but without creating any binding trust that if practical this gift be applied towards _____ at the discretion of the Principal. I declare that the receipt of the Principal or Business Manager shall be sufficient discharge to my trustees.'

Genazzano's needs are ever changing, therefore an unrestricted and unconditional bequest gives the College more flexibility to direct your gift to where it will have the greatest impact. Of course if you wish to only support a special purpose, the College would endeavour to accommodate your interests, but we would appreciate discussing any conditions directly with you.

In any event, we would encourage you to discuss your intended bequest with us in a confidential meeting. Knowing whatever details you are comfortable to share about your intended gift assists the College in its financial planning for the future. More importantly, however, we would like to have the opportunity to thank you appropriately as well as to discuss how your gift can best be remembered in your honour.
