Genazzano boarders kicking goals!

This week we celebrated the outstanding performances of our sporting teams, individual athletes and representative stars in 2019 at our Celebration of Sport evening. As we know, sport is a great way for all communities to connect, and this is even more so with our boarding students and their families. It is with pride that the College acknowledges the large number of boarders who received awards or were acknowledged for their leadership this year or congratulated for a position in 2020, in roles such as Sports Captain, Athletics Captain and Netball Captain. Twelve students received their awards in front of many of our boarding families who come from as far as Mathoura, Mulwala and Jerilderie, and who always support their daughters and Genazzano at various sporting events throughout the year. A truly incredible effort!
 
Genazzano boarders are heavily involved in a wide range of co-curricular activities, at either the College or they may participate in local community teams including AFL and netball. They are well represented within the College in leadership roles and participate in several activities, including the recent International Sporting Tour to Europe, with seven of our Year 10 and 11 boarders being involved this year. During the two-week trip, they immersed themselves in these European sporting cultures and grew connections with our FCJ sister schools, while creating life-long bonds with the group.
