We congratulate Amy Catanzariti as our Dux for 2016. Amy joined the Genazzano College community as a Year 7 student in 2011. She achieved an Australian Tertiary Entrance Rank of 99.85 following outstanding results in Units 3 & 4 English, French, Italian, Mathematical Methods and Chemistry. As a Year 11 student, Amy completed Units 3 & 4 Biology and was awarded the Centorame Award for Academic Excellence.
During her time at the College, Amy has embraced the many co-curricular activities on offer. She has been involved in Gavel Club, DAV Debating and was an enthusiastic member of the Writing Factory. She has also participated in a number of social justice initiatives and was an active member of the St Vincent De Paul Society.
Amy also held a number of key leadership positions such as that of Mission Representative and Douglas House Captain. As a member of our school community, Amy embraced a passion for life, a love of learning and the courage and confidence to serve others. We wish Amy well for the future and congratulate her on her excellent results.
It is with greatest pleasure that we congratulate Jacinta Ryan as our College Dux for 2016. Jacinta joined the Genazzano FCJ College community as a Year 7 student in 2011. She achieved an outstanding Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank of 99.85 following excellent results in, English, French, Latin and Chemistry. As a Year 11 student she completed both Mathematical Methods and Music Performance in which she achieved a perfect score.
During her time at the College, Jacinta has always demonstrated a willingness to complete everything to the best of her ability. Her dedication to academic excellence has been recognised over the years through her achievement of High Distinction awards in the Australian Mathematics Competition.
Jacinta was also the recipient of the Sir Murray McInerney Award for Music Performance as a Year 11 student. Jacinta’s contribution to the musical life of the College has been nothing short of outstanding. She has been a member of a number of choirs, orchestras and ensembles whilst a student at the College. She has also involved herself in a number of social justice activities.
Her leadership skills were recognised by her peers in her election as Music Prefect and her contribution to the co-curricular life of the College was acknowledged through her receipt of the Gold Laurel Award as a Year 10 student in 2014. Congratulations Jacinta!
We congratulate Samantha Pereira, who joined the College as a Year 7 student in 2011. Samantha Pereira achieved an ATAR of 99.7 after achieving excellent results in Units 3 & 4 English, Chemistry, Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods and Music Performance. As a Year 11 student, Samantha also completed Units 3 & 4 Theatre Studies.
Samantha’s contribution to the musical life of the College has been outstanding, participating in numerous choirs, ensembles and orchestras. She also participated in the Rowing Program and was a Library Assistant. Samantha’s contribution to the spiritual life of the College was recognised by her teachers and peers through her election as Liturgy Prefect.
She carried out this role in an exemplary manner and lived out her beliefs about the importance of social justice through her participation in a number of awareness and fundraising activities. We congratulate Samantha on her outstanding achievement.
Since joining the College as a Year 5 student in 2007, Lauren has embraced academic challenges with gusto and enthusiasm. She achieved an outstanding ATAR of 99.55 through excellent results in Units 3 & 4 English, Chemistry, French, Specialist Mathematics and Mathematical Methods. As a Year 11 student, Lauren completed Units 3 & 4 Biology and was awarded The Choong Foundation Award for excellence in this subject.
She was also awarded the prestigious Caltex Award that same year. Lauren was also an avid debater and participated in the DAV Debating Competition. She also exemplified her commitment to helping others through her ongoing support and commitment to the Friday Night Tutoring program. As a Year 10 student, Lauren was also the recipient of the prestigious Kimberley Exchange Scholarship.

We congratulate Lorena Stents on her outstanding achievement of an ATAR of 99.55 achieved excellent results in Units 3 & 4 English, Chemistry, French, Italian and Mathematical Methods. As a Year 11 student, Lorena also completed History: Renaissance.
Lorena joined the College as a Year 5 student in 2007. She was an enthusiastic participant in the public speaking program and her talent in this area was recognised through being awarded the Margaret Boyle Public Speaking Award.
Lorena’s contribution to the musical life of the College has been exceptional, participating in a number of choirs, ensembles and orchestras. She has also represented the College in sporting competitions. Lorena’s extensive co-curricular involvement led her to the Gold Laurel Award.
In 2015, Lorena was elected as Co-Captain of Genazzano FCJ College, a role she carried out with exceptional enthusiasm, commitment, dedication and grace. Lorena was an outstanding leader of the College and we congratulate her on her exemplary achievement.
Emily joined the Genazzano community as a Year 7 student in 2011. We congratulate Emily on her achievement of an ATAR of 99.25. Emily achieved excellent results across all her studies including Units 3 & 4 English Language, English (a perfect score), French, Mathematical Methods and Chemistry. As a Year 11 student, Emily also achieved an excellent result in Units 3 & 4 Philosophy.
During her time at the College, Emily participated in the Rowing Program as well as contributing her services as a Library Assistant. She also contributed to various clubs such as the Chess Club and the Voci Nostre Club.

We congratulate Amelia Costigan, who joined our College community as a Year 5 student in 2007. Amelia achieved an outstanding ATAR of 99.1 following excellent results in English (a perfect score), Literature, French, Legal Studies and Global Politics. As a Year 11 student, Amelia achieved a perfect study score for Units 3 & 4 Theatre Studies and was the recipient of the Premier’s Award for that subject.
Amelia has been a member of a number of choirs and musical ensembles. She also participated in the GSV Netball Competition and the St Kevin’s/Genazzano Production. Amelia showed exemplary leadership in her role as Stock House Captain in 2016.
We congratulate Sophia Di Mattina on her ATAR of 99, following her excellent performance across Units 3 & 4 English, Literature, Specialist Mathematics, Latin and Mathematical Methods. Sophia also completed History: Revolutions as Year 11 student for which she was awarded The Gladys Holzer Breheny Prize for outstanding achievement.
Sophia joined the Genazzano community as a Year 5 student in 2007. Sophia has always shown a keen interest in her academic pursuits and has worked diligently towards achieving her goals. Sophia participated in a wide variety of co-curricular activities including participation in various choirs, bands and symphony orchestras.
She was also a member of a number of rowing crews and held the position of Environment Captain in 2013. Congratulations Sophia on your excellent results.
