Libraries
Genazzano FCJ College has two libraries – the Judith Elizabeth Paphazy Early Learning Resource Centre in Grange Hill for students from ELC to Year 4 and the d’Houët Library for students in Years 5 to 12. Trained and experienced staff maintain these beautiful spaces, curate outstanding collections and offer a range of learning opportunities for the College community.
As well as physical spaces, the library service has an online presence to support learning. This can be accessed via the Genazzano FCJ College Library Services site. Resources are available to all Genazzano students 24/7 through our library website – search for Genazzano Libguides or visit here.
Students can access subscription databases for research such as Worldbook, Encyclopedia Britannica and Citemaker, as well as enjoy reading for pleasure with Sora, an eBook and audiobook library, and the Storybox Library.

Grange Hill Library
Monday to Friday: 8.15am to 3.45pm
All Grange Hill students enjoy class time in the library with Teacher Librarians, from storytime with ELC to Information Literacy with Prep to Year 4, with a focus on literature promotion, building research skills, and using digital technology. The Library is a vibrant and welcoming space featuring delightful reading nooks in the walls, plentiful natural light and colourful artwork by Australian illustrators. Students can also enjoy a variety of activities in the library to help them explore, wonder and collaborate, such as Lego, creative play installations, games, colouring and craft activities.
d’Houët Library
Monday to Thursday: 8.00am to 7.00pm
Friday: 8.00am to 4.00pm
The Teacher-Librarians run a very successful wide-reading program with students from Years 5 to 10, called R.O.A.D. – Reading Opens All Doors. Classes visit the library once a fortnight and are immersed in book discussion, genre promotion, book selection, reading and developing research skills.
Recommended book lists are available on our library website. The library has areas for quiet reading, individual work, collaborative study and also has a private silent study room for Year 11 and 12 students. Students are encouaged to ‘digitally detox’ by playing games with friends or engaging in mindful activities such as puzzles and colouring in.
The d’Houët Library has a range of co-curricular offerings, including Book Club, Chess Club and Library Assistants.
The Library also organises an annual week-long literature festival, LitFest, in which all students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of literary experiences, from workshops with authors, illustrators and publishers, to enjoying performances, and storytelling and entering writing competitions.
