Congratulations to all students of the VCE Class of 2020!
The median study score was 34 and the percentage of study scores greater than 40 was 20%. Notably, a total of 13 students received an ATAR of 99 or above and 72 achieved an ATAR greater than 90, which equates to 45%. Our median ATAR was 88.3. What is perhaps most significant about these statistics, is the depth of achievement under the most challenging of circumstances. Our Year 12 students spent a total of 14 weeks of school time learning remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown.
Our College Dux, Emily Condon, attained an outstanding Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank of 99.8. Her results included a perfect score of 50 in Psychology and last year, a perfect score of 50 in Health and Human Development, achieving the Premier’s Award. Emily’s results in English, Chemistry, Mathematical Methods and French were also outstanding. I extend my sincere congratulations to Emily and wish her well as she undertakes a University course in Law and Global Studies.
I also extend my congratulations to the following students who also attained perfect study scores: Chanel Micelotta in Psychology, Lara Partridge in Italian, Ella McEvoy in English, Georgia Ryan in Media, Madeline Grave (Year 11) in Health and Human Development, Mary Ryan (Year 11) in Product Design and Technology and Prudence Spencer (Year 11) in Product Design and Technology.
Furthermore, I am delighted to announce the following students, 8% of the cohort, who received an ATAR of 99 or above: Ruby Curtis (99.7), Lara Partridge (99.7), Chelsea Kwan (99.65), Emily Croagh (99.6), Ella McEvoy (99.5), Maeve Ryan (99.45), Ruby Atkin (99.25), Amelia Grounds (99.2), Anabel Robertson (99.15), Georgia Farlecas (99.05), Audrey Hogg (99.05) and Elissa Grossi (99.0).
The partnership between students, parents and teachers at Genazzano is highly evident. I acknowledge the guidance, commitment and dedication of the Year 12 teachers and those who have taught the students throughout their educational journey at the College. We are delighted with the achievements of all our students. I extend my gratitude and sincere thanks to our Year 12 teachers, all staff at the College, parents and families, and the wider school community for your support and encouragement of our girls throughout this very challenging year.
As we come to the end of 2020, our hearts are filled with hope and love for our Year 12 students as they venture into a new world of opportunity, discovery and new beginnings. It is now a time of celebration for our Genazzano FCJ College community. We extend our blessings and best wishes to each and every young woman in the Class of 2020 – may you continue to be courageous and confident in your future endeavours.
