Your VCE at Gen

At Genazzano FCJ College, our goal is to provide a unique learning journey that sets the foundation for the pursuit of personal success.

2026 & Beyond.

Genazzano FCJ College recognises that you and your daughter desire to create a unique learning pathway that allows her to excel at school and prepares her for the next step in her learning and career journey. We want her to be passionate about the subjects she wishes to pursue.

We have responded by increasing and expanding our offering of VCE Unit 1-4 courses and VET Certificate Scoring options to allow your daughter to channel her knowledge, interests, and creativity. Two pathways are available to our students:

  • VCE pathway
  • VCE VM (Vocational Major) pathway

To support each student’s learning journey, we can deliver it in various ways. The College reserves the right to decide whether a course runs in a specified mode.

Traditional Face-to-Face Mode

These VCE courses are the most popular courses of study offered at Genazzano. Specialist teachers staff them and they require a minimum class size of 12 for theory-based courses (for example, English, Mathematics & Humanities) or 8 for Languages, Science, Creative Arts, and other practical courses. Refer to the studies list for subjects exempt from the minimum class size.

Studio Mode (Online & Face to Face) in Studio Beyond®

In Studio Mode, there will be a selection of practical VCE courses that students will attend online in Studio Beyond®, the Learning Hub or in the subject-specific area (eg. Media/ IT lab, Art classroom) with a combination of a supervising staff member or specialist teacher.

The course will be conducted through VSV (Virtual School Victoria) or for languages with VSL (Victorian School of Languages). Students will attend online VSV and VSL sessions via their laptops and work through the required content and assessments. Students will be required to be on campus for these classes. A specialist teacher will be allocated for 4 lessons a cycle- in this way, teachers can assist with portfolios and creative solutions. The College will provide all materials and equipment.

Online Mode in the Learning Hub

Students studying in Online Mode complete their theory-based VCE course study online via VSV or VSL. They will be using their laptop in our Learning Hub with a supervising staff member to check attendance, provide support and scaffolding when needed, and run assessments.

University of Melbourne “Matching for Success” Program

Students completing one VCE course of study in either Studio Mode or Online Mode, will have the additional benefit of participating in The University of Melbourne’s “Matching for Success” program, receiving an Australian Learner Competency Credential (ALCC) along with their ATAR.
