We’re officially a Candidate School for the IB MYP!
1 September 2025
We are excited to announce that Genazzano FCJ College is now a Candidate School* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). As an IB World School authorised to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) in our ELC to Year 6, we are now pursuing authorisation as an IB MYP World School. Along with over 5000 IB World Schools globally, we share a common philosophy—a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education that Genazzano FCJ College believes is important for our students.
As a Candidate School* for the MYP, we will be embedding the MYP framework to enhance the delivery of the Victorian Curriculum for Year 7 and 8 in 2026, extending up to Year 9 in 2027.
What does this mean for our community?
This milestone recognises our achievements as an IB World School in the PYP and our reputation as a provider of top-tier education with a focus on preparing students to thrive and contribute to a rapidly changing and uncertain world. The journey ahead to MYP Authorisation will bring us closer together as a learning community, inviting close partnership between students, families, the College. Our school will join a local and international network of like-minded schools, having access to world-class Professional Development for teachers and tapping into the latest in International Educational Research and best practice for Middle Years Education. We look forward to working in partnership with our families through the Middle Years, to enable our girls to flourish.
*Only schools authorised by the IB Organisation can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorisation will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org
